Migrating your website to our servers is entirely optional. However, we strongly recommend it if you are on a subscription plan that offers hosting.
After your 14 free trial ends, you will be notified about the migration of your website. Below you will learn what the process of migrating your website to our servers looks like. Also, pro-rated amounts to your subscription are not allowed if you opt-out of any of our perk services.
1: We gain access to your existing 1 WordPress site files and database. We typically handle this with a premium plugin that allows us to migrate your website files. In rare cases, we need access to a control panel(cPanel) to gain access to the files and database. The whole migration process could take several days.
2: We vet the migration before adjusting any DNS settings “making the site live” to ensure that the site functions and appears the same as it previously did.
3: Once our team approves, we then adjust the DNS, which we should have on file at this point. We typically adjust the following records
– A record
– Add AAAA record
At this point, we carefully monitor the change. When editing DNS, changes can take up to 24 hours to propagate across the entire web fully.
4: Once done, we will inform you of the changeover and that you can then shut down your existing host provider’s hosting.
Migrating your email to our servers is entirely optional. However, we strongly recommend it if you are on a subscription plan that offers email hosting.
After your 14 free trial ends, you will be notified about the migration of your email hosting service, or if you currently don’t pay for email hosting, we will be glad to configure this for you. Below you will learn what the process of setting up and migrating your existing emails to our servers looks like. Also, pro-rated amounts to your subscription are not allowed if you opt-out of any of our perk services.
The great thing about our hosted email plans is that you get a paid Google Workspace environment. Meaning you take full advantage of everything that Google has to offer when it comes to email security and reliability!
1: We send out a simple questionnaire with the following questions.
How many emails do you currently have?(we can always scale up if it is more than stated in your subscription plan.)
SMTP/IMAP Settings(if we are migrating your older data to our servers, then we will need SMTP/IMAP Settings to migrate the data.)
DNS/NS access, at which point we should already have.
Personal email account(a good email where we can send you the new login details)
2: Once we have the above information, we will provision the email license for the needed email accounts.
3: Verify the domain via DNS/NS access.
4: Adjust the MX records so that new email comes to our servers.
5: Begin the migration from the existing SMTP/IMAP server.
6: Provide you with your new email login details and how to gain access to them.
Your email will never be “down”, as in bounced emails. Once we switch the DNS/NS changes in step 4, the new email will appear in your new email account. You simply have to access it to see it.
To make the whole experience as worry-free for you as possible, we encourage our subscribers to transfer their domain name into our registrar account. After your 14 day free trial ends, we will handle this for you, but there may be an action point to accept the transfer request from your original registrar. All registrars can transfer your domain, and we will help you with that process.
In a nutshell, your registrar will give you a unique transfer authorization key that you will provide to us.
